The Australian Cobberdog
In Australia the name 'Cobber' means 'friend', which is a perfect name for this breed.
Cobberdogs were developed for Therapy and Assistant purposes with a coat that is low - no shedding and easy to maintain.
Officially, Cobberdogs come in 3 sizes, Miniature (33cm to 42cm), Medium (42cm to 51cm) and Standard (51cm to 61cm).
There are 4 different coat types in the Cobberdog breed. These are Straight, Wavy, Curly and Flat. A straight coat falls with gentle waves and can be kept long or short depending on your preference. Wavy coat has slightly more curl to it than the straight coat and can also be kept long or short and quite manageable with regular brushing. A Curly coat has tight curls and is often best kept short. A flat coat is similar to a spaniel or retriever and does not require grooming like the other coats mentioned.
Cobberdog's coats come in a variety of colours. These include Phantom, Parti, Raven, Chocolate, Cafe, Gold, Apricot, Caramel, Red, Blonde, Cream and White. The pigment on their noses, gums and around their eyes is either Black or Rose.
Grooming your Cobberdog regularly, right from when you take them home ,will help establish a beautiful bond between you and also keep your Cobber's coat knot free. Our dog's love their groom and will lift their arms up and roll on their backs for more.
